When the Cover Open

Warning Indicator is Lit

This indicator lights and a message

appears on the display to alert you

that a cover on the main machine or in

the paper supply area is open. Check

the display message and close the

cover(s).

When the Paper Jammed

Indicator is Lit

This indicator lights when paper is

jammed in the machine. Check the

message shown on the display and re-

move the jammed paper.

When the Add Toner

Indicator is Lit or Blinking

This indicator lights to inform you

that there is not much toner left in the

toner cartridge.

When the following message appears

on the display, it is time to load a new

toner cartridge:

Out of toner. Re-

place cartridge using instruc-

tions inside the unit.

Important

❒ If the combined total of the num-

ber of communications that take

place when toner has run out and

the number of communications

that have not yet been automatical-

ly printed on the Journal exceeds

250 (1,000 when the optional Func-

tion Upgrade Unit is installed), the

Journal information is deleted and

you cannot check it.

Faxing when toner has run out

You can still send faxes from this ma-

chine even if toner has run out.

Important

❒ If the combined total number of

communications that take place

when toner has run out and num-

ber of communications that have

not yet been automatically printed

on the Journal exceeds 250 (1,000

when the optional Function Up-

grade Unit is installed), the Journal

information is deleted and you

cannot check it.
