4.2 SERVICE PROGRAM MODE



CAUTION

Before accessing the service menu, do the following:

Confirm that there is no print data in the printer buffer (the Data In LED

must not be lit or blinking).

If there is some data in the buffer, wait until all data has been printed.

4.2.1 ENABLING AND DISABLING SERVICE PROGRAM MODE

Enabling the Service Mode

1. Turn the machine on while pressing the “On Line” key and “Escape” key

together until the service mode menu appears on the display.

2. When the machine goes into the service mode, all LEDs are lit.

3. Use the “arrow” keys to scroll through the menu listing. To select an item, press

the “Enter” key. Then the sub-menu will appear.

4. To return to the 1st level menu, press the “Escape” key several times.

NOTE: If the “On Line” key and “Escape” key are not pressed together while

turning on, the service mode menu will not be available.

Disabling the Service Mode

There are two ways to exit the service mode.

1. Turning off and on

1) Turn off the machine.

2) Wait for a few seconds and then turn it on again. The user mode menu will

appear.

2. “Form Feed” key and “Escape” key

1) Press the “Form Feed” key and “Escape” key together.

2) Wait a few seconds. The machine exits service mode automatically.

3) The printer starts to initialize.
